Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the procurement process, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the efficient sourcing of materials and services. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in supply chain management and the ability to negotiate effectively. The Senior Purchasing Manager will work closely with various departments to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company objectives.
• Manage the procurement process for materials, supplies, and services necessary for operations.
• Oversee vendor management, including selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels using MRP systems.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to purchasing activities.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information within SAP systems.
• Lead sourcing initiatives to identify new suppliers capable of meeting quality standards while reducing costs.
• Provide training and support to junior purchasing staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally in a senior role.
• Strong understanding of vendor management practices and sourcing strategies.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is required.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes.
• Ability to analyze data effectively to inform purchasing decisions.
• Knowledge of International shipping/receiving and customs procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams on fabrication needs is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,975.64 - $113,271.51 per year
