Ottawa Facility - Production Operator / Industrial Sewer / Assembler

Ottawa, Ontario | Full-time | $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Position Summary

Production Operator’s play a key role in the manufacture and assembly of PRE Labs protective products by following established specifications, assembly instructions, and quality requirements. Depending on a candidate’s experience and company production requirements, employees may perform a range of tasks including industrial sewing, material preparation, cutting, assembly, inspection, finishing, or packaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture products according to specifications and work instructions.
• Operate industrial sewing machines and other production equipment as assigned.
• Cut, prepare, sew, assemble, and finish textile and protective-equipment components.
• Inspect work throughout the manufacturing process.
• Maintain accurate production and traceability records.
• Identify and report defective materials or workmanship.
• Follow established quality and safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition.
• Meet established productivity and quality targets.
• Participate in cross-training across multiple production operations.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or industrial sewing experience is preferred; training may be provided for suitable candidates.
• Ability to perform detailed repetitive work accurately.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience manufacturing tactical equipment, apparel, armour, or technical sewn products is an asset.
