Ottawa Facility - Plant Manager

Ottawa, Ontario | Full-time | $100,000-$125,000 per year

Position Summary

The Ottawa Facility - Plant Manager is responsible for the overall operation of PRE Labs' Ottawa manufacturing facility. This position provides leadership to the Production, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse teams, as well as oversees material inventory, safety protocols, and facility maintenance. The Ottawa Operations & Facility Manager will work in close coordination with PRE Labs’ Kelowna team. The successful candidate will be a hands-on manufacturing leader capable of establishing and developing a new production facility while maintaining PRE Labs' quality standards and company culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day activities of the Ottawa manufacturing facility.
• Establish production workflows, operating procedures, staffing plans, and performance standards.
• Manage Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Administration.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop Ottawa employees.
• Ensure production schedules, quality requirements, and customer delivery commitments are achieved.
• Monitor productivity, labour utilization, quality, inventory, and operating costs.
• Coordinate closely with PRE Labs' Kelowna management and manufacturing teams.
• Implement and maintain PRE Labs' manufacturing and quality systems.
• Lead continuous-improvement and cost-control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee equipment, facility maintenance, suppliers, and local service providers.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of manufacturing or operations experience.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience managing production employees and supervisors.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, quality systems, inventory control, and continuous improvement.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in defence, law-enforcement, textiles, sewn products, protective equipment, or regulated manufacturing is an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing/business systems.
