Production Team Lead

Ottawa, Ontario | Full-time | $50,000-$60,000 per year

PRE Labs Inc. is a Canadian manufacturer of advanced protective equipment serving law-enforcement, defence, government, and other professional users. PRE Labs is expanding its Canadian manufacturing operations with a new facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Position Summary

The Production Team Lead provides hands-on leadership and technical support to production employees. The Team Lead works directly on the production floor and assists the Production Supervisor with workflow, employee training, troubleshooting, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production activities within assigned work areas.
• Assist employees with production methods and technical issues.
• Train and mentor new employees.
• Ensure work instructions and quality requirements are followed.
• Monitor work-in-process and production flow.
• Identify defects or production concerns and escalate them appropriately.
• Assist with equipment setup and minor troubleshooting.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Perform production work as required.
• Support continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Act as Production Supervisor when delegated.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to train and support other employees.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Industrial sewing or technical sewn-product experience is an asset.
