PRE Labs is expanding its Canadian manufacturing operations with a new facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for implementation and oversight of the quality program within the Ottawa facility. This position operates independently from Production and reports to the Plant Manager to ensure materials and finished products meet PRE Labs specifications, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement PRE Labs' quality procedures at the Ottawa facility.
  • Maintain inspection, traceability, and quality documentation.
  • Conduct and oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Manage non-conforming material and product.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Investigate quality concerns and identify root causes.
  • Maintain calibration and inspection records.
  • Support customer, regulatory, and quality audits.
  • Coordinate with PRE Labs' Kelowna quality personnel.
  • Train production employees on quality requirements.
  • Maintain quality records related to government and customer contracts.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and report trends to management.
  • Maintain authority to stop or hold production when quality requirements are not met.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing quality experience.
  • Experience with QA/QC systems, inspections, NCRs, corrective actions, and document control.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Experience with ISO-style quality systems is preferred.
  • Defence, law-enforcement, textile, ballistic, or protective-equipment manufacturing experience is an asset.
